Why Big Lake?

Scott's connection to the lake runs deep, having created his favorite childhood memories in the waters of Big Lake with his grandparents. From early morning fishing with Grandpa to cooking breakfast with Grandma in the cottage, he collected many cherished memories any child would be blessed to have.

After reconnecting with the lake in the summer of 2020, Scott knew he would want to create the same memories for his family. Soon after, Scott and Sandy fulfilled their dream of owning a piece of paradise on Big Lake and began creating countless moments of joy and serenity with their three children. 

Driven by a desire to spread the magic of Big Lake to others, Scott and Sandy purchased an additional home to open the doors of Big Lake Island Retreat, inviting families to create their own cherished memories by the water. Whether it's casting a line off the dock, roasting marshmallows around the fire, or simply soaking in the beauty of nature, Scott and Sandy believe in the lake's power to bring people together and create lasting bonds.
