Common questions about our lakeside rental.
How do I go about renting the lake house?
Right now we do not make our reservations or availability accessible to the public. If you are interested in staying at Big Lake Island Retreat, please contact us here and we will work with you to find availability that works for you!
How much does it cost to rent the lake house?
$275/night with a 3 night minimum with a $150 cleaning fee. $400 refundable deposit is also required.
Is there a minimum or maximum rental period?
We have a minimum requirement of 3 nights and a maximum limit of 15 days per rental period.
Is there a minimum age requirement?
You must be 21+ to enter into a rental contract.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is at 4:00 PM, and check-out is at 11:00 AM. If you are in need of special accommodations, please contact us, we are happy to work with you if timelines allow.
Are there grocery stores and restaurants nearby?
Yes, Big Lake is conveniently located 15 minutes north of Columbia City, IN! For more information on surrounding shops, restaurants, and activities, visit our directory page.
Are we responsible for cleaning?
Our house is professionally cleaned and sanitize between stays to ensure safety for all guests. While we do not ask guests to clean, we do ask that trash is gathered and beds are stripped upon departure. For more information on arrival and departure procedures, please refer to the guest handbook provided upon securing your reservation.
Are toiletries provided?
While all sinks are equipped with hand soap, we also provide basic toiletry items. We ask that you please provide your own shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.
Is there Wi-Fi at the lake?
Yes. The house is equipped with Wi-Fi and two smart TVs.
Are smoking or pets allowed at the lake house?
Both smoking and pets are strictly prohibited. This is out of comfort and respect for all other guests.
This includes smoking, vaping, or other illegal substances inside or on Big Lake Island Retreat property.
